Full-Size SUVs Chevrolet Suburban

Editor's Pick: Chevrolet Suburban
Nothing hauls people and pulls trailers better than the Chevrolet Suburban (starting at $40,050 with 4WD). It's based on a superbly engineered full-size truck frame and its V8 engines deliver strong torque for towing heavy loads. The Suburban is supremely stable, even when pulling heavy trailers through nasty, windy weather. This is a great truck for long-distance travel with lots of people and stuff.

Other top choices:
The Nissan Armada offers impressive response, roomy accommodations and innovative features. It's easier to garage than a Suburban, yet it's as big as a Ford Expedition and can seat seven or eight people. The Armada boasts brilliant acceleration thanks to its 5.6-liter V8, and is rated to tow trailers of up to 9,100 pounds. Handling is impressive as well. Even the base model comes well equipped ($36,100 with 4WD).
