Sam Moses began his journalism career covering grand prix motorcycle racing in Europe. He was a staff writer for Sports Illustrated for 17 years, on the motorsports beat. His memorable book, "Fast Guys, Rich Guys and Idiots," provides a sharp and vivid gaze through the windscreen of semi-pro sports car racing. As deputy editor at AutoWeek, he wrote high-performance road and racing car reviews. In 1998 he received automotive journalism's prestigious Ken Purdy Award. More recently, he was creative director of a website covering the Mount Everest climbing season. An avid windsurfer, Sam lives in White Salmon, Washington, in the glorious Columbia River Gorge.
